I just went back into Roberto Calasso's Ka. It's way better the second time through, and I can see myself re-reading this one at least another couple of times. Gorgeous. It's not such a huge shift from the equally gorgeous (to me) The Earth in Context by David M. Harland. They are both cosmologies, they both purport to be non-fictional, representing a current state of knowledge of generative forces, how things came to be on earth and the heavens, what's worth understanding and how one might try to understand it.|
It's the Labour Day long weekend. The Sleaze Ball was on Saturday night well into Sunday morning, and the partying continued right into Sunday night for those whose pills were still fuelling the urge to dance and thrust. We avoided all that, but I got on the end of some of the thrusting at a sex party last night. yuriverse and I attended our second of these events. This time the space was larger, the weather warmer, the organisation "better" and the outcome similar. All in all, I think I prefer a place with more padding.
On Thursday we take possession of our new Balmain house. Yay!! Movers are booked for packing and moving us from our Elizabeth Bay pad just over a week later, giving us time to acquire and take delivery of a fridge, washing machine and dryer along with any other faffing (phone connections, internyet, etc.) Soon, backyard barbecues, Balmain boys and buttsex! Or, you know, glasses of wine and conversation.
