On another stormy weekend, with yuriverse trying to catch up on last night's poor sleep, it's now time to post the first few pics of the apartment. Here's one from in the living room. I promise it's tidier now (OK, not much tidier).|
And a couple of balcony ones
Actually, they're all here: http://www.nickv.com/LizBay/LizBay.html
So, we have DSL (yay!). It's supposed to be hyper quick ADSL2+ Annex M, which is a bunch of jargon to me, but that is supposed to mean 24 Mbps downstream. Currently it ain't that fast (boo!), but we're getting it worked out with the provider (yay!). By next week it should be obscenely fast. That's my story, anyhow.
In other good news, the SF house is done and dusted, so now we can look in earnest for a Sydney house. We have plenty of time at this stage, but it can slip away fast, so we'll be out and about most weekends checking the quality of the goods. Let's hope it's all smooth and a new haven for Dax and Weensie shall be found.
The rest of the week has been work, gym visits, a bit of steam room play (but I can't do it as easily as my husband - I get far too hot and uncomfortable), some dinners out including one weekly meal at the Taxi Club, and one meal with my second cousin Scott who lives just around the corner. He's one of the closest remaining relatives to me on my father's side of the family. His mother is the closest (Dad's cousin). There were things to catch up on of a general nature, but less intimate stuff to talk about than I had hoped. It's strange we weren't closer friends in our teenage years. We went to different schools and universities, mixed in somewhat different social circles and so on. He is more sports oriented than me, being a keen sailor and skier. I don't know if he's uncomfortable about my sexuality, and my sister thought he was gay too, but I don't think so. He has a fiancé now. She's from Canada (jokes about imaginary Canadian girlfriends go here). We can hope for a better relationship now? My father was very close to his grandmother (my great aunty Lily). The signs should all point to yes.
Tonight we have a queeny dinner over at Gary and Robert's. Roast beast of some kind, friends, wine, bitchiness? Kindness? Conviviality? All three? We'll see.
